It’s that time of year again when golfers hit the greens in Pipestone, Minnesota, and we have some exciting news to share from their recent outings. The Pipestone Area High School golf teams recently took on the challenge at various Big South Conference events, and let’s just say, the competition was as fierce as the windy weather could get!

Girls Team Performance – April 21

The girls team faced off against some tough rivals, but they showed their grit and determination on the course. The scores from April 21 revealed Blue Earth Area taking the lead with an impressive total of 192. Fairmont followed closely with 201, while Luverne, Jackson County Central, and Redwood Valley rounded off the leaderboard with scores of 224, 227, and 228 respectively. Unfortunately, both Pipestone Area and Windom Area did not have enough players to compete as a full team.

Individual Highlights for Girls

Even without a complete team, individual performances sparkled! Vivian Brockberg clinched 6th place with a score of 49, while Olyvia Weber came in at 16th place with her score of 57. It’s worth mentioning that the top female golfers included Katelyn Storbeck from Blue Earth Area, who topped the chart with a score of 41.

Exciting Boys Competition – April 21

Not to be outdone, the boys team put up an admirable fight against their adversaries. The competition was fierce, with Blue Earth Area and Windom Area both tying for first with scores of 162. Luverne and Redwood Valley followed closely, while Pipestone Area finished with a score of 186.

Boys Individual Highlights

Matt DeBates shined on the course, finishing in 9th place with a score of 41. Meanwhile, Max Taubert secured 19th place with a score of 45. Other performances included Torin Schroyer and Tagon Woelber, who both tied for 29th place with scores of 50 each. Stars like Will Bergman from Luverne showed impressive skill with a top score of 38.
