Dallas is buzzing as the NFL rolls into Week 4, bringing excitement and unpredictability that fans have come to cherish. This past week reminded us that there are no sure things in the NFL, reflecting a sport where underdogs can surprise us at any moment. Just look at the recent game where the Cowboys were favored by 5.5 points against their opponent, only to scrape by with a 5-point victory. The missed field goal in the closing seconds sent shockwaves through Dallas fans, a reminder of how close these games can be.
Turning our attention to the quarterbacks, it’s clear not every draft choice guarantees success. For instance, Patrick Mahomes is a star in Kansas City, but that success is bolstered by a strong team and coaching. In contrast, Trevor Lawrence, who was a top prospect, is currently struggling in Jacksonville. The NFL is not like college football, where sometimes a team can dominate an obviously inferior opponent; here, anything can happen any week.
The Cowboys have been fortunate with their quarterbacks since the days of Troy Aikman, seeing productive play from both Tony Romo and Dak Prescott. However, expectations can sometimes be overwhelming for the fans. As we head into Week 4, I’m excited to share predictions for some upcoming matchups.
- Jacksonville (+6) at Houston: Predicted outcome – Texans to win and cover, by a margin of seven or more.
- Minnesota (+3) at Green Bay: Expecting the Vikings to win outright; never a dull moment with this team.
- New Orleans (+2.5) at Atlanta: Tough to gauge in the NFC South, but I’ll go with the Falcons to win by three.
- LA Rams (+3) at Chicago: A prediction for the Rams to come out on top.
- Cincinnati (-4.5) at Carolina: Time for the Bengals to shine; I’m picking them to win and cover.
- New England (+10.5) at San Francisco: The 49ers might win, but I think it will be closer than that, so they won’t cover.
As we gear up for the exciting action of the NFL, remember that anything can happen. Good luck to all the teams and fans rooting for their favorites!
