With just two weeks left in the regular season, the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC) has released its latest computer rankings, shedding light on which teams are likely to make the playoffs.
In the Class AAAA rankings, Martinsburg leads with an impressive rating of 18.56 and an undefeated record of 9-0. They have scored a staggering 438 points while allowing only 60 this season. Following them is Spring Mills High School, boasting a rating of 17.56 with a 7-1 record.
Other teams making waves include Huntington, ranked fourth with a rating of 14.94 and a 7-1 record. Their performance has been notable, scoring 358 points and allowing only 137. The playoff picture is beginning to come into focus, and only 16 teams from the top rankings will earn a spot in the playoffs starting in just over three weeks.
In the Class AAA category, Fairmont Senior High School leads with a solid rating of 16.5 and an undefeated record of 8-0. They have outscored their opponents by a large margin, racking up 408 points and giving up just 52.
As we look further at the Class AA standings, Frankfort is dominating with a rating of 14.63 and an impressive record of 8-0, scoring 350 points while allowing 68. Meanwhile, in Class A, Tug Valley continues to impress with an undefeated record of 8-0 and a rating of 12.13.
