NFL Injury Update: Week 5 Rundown
This week in Dallas, the Cowboys are facing a tough challenge as they gear up to play the Pittsburgh Steelers. With injuries piling up, Dallas will be without several key players, adding pressure on their depth chart. Both teams are feeling the heat as the second quarter of the regular season begins.
For the Buccaneers, several players are listed as out including tackle Luke Goedeke (concussion), defensive lineman Calijah Kancey (calf), and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (foot). On the other hand, the Falcons will be missing linebacker Troy Andersen (knee), with running back Jase McClellan (illness) being listed as questionable.
The Panthers are in rough shape with many players either not practicing or limited, including linebackers Josey Jewell (hamstring/groin) and Shaq Thompson (Achilles). The Bears are also struggling; tight end Cole Kmet (knee) and defensive lineman Montez Sweat (ankle) were limited in practice.
Over in Baltimore, things are looking up as no player missed practice on Wednesday, though some were limited. The Bengals got a boost with the return of first-round pick Myles Murphy and defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson, both able to participate fully in practice.
The Dolphins are feeling the effects of injuries too, with nine players listed as limited. That includes running backs Raheem Mostert (chest) and Jeff Wilson (knee). Meanwhile, the Patriots will be without center David Andrews, who is expected to undergo shoulder surgery this week.
It’s not all gloom and doom, however. The Cardinals received good news as tight end Trey McBride returned to practice after missing last week. The Giants had a rough Wednesday, missing running back Devin Singletary (groin) and several key defense players.
As we head into this intriguing Week 5, keep an eye on these injury updates as teams prepare for crucial matchups. The road to the playoffs starts now, and every game counts!
