Oregon High School Football Rankings Update

As of September 24, 2024, Portland is buzzing with excitement as the latest Oregon On3 Massey Ratings have been released. There was hardly any shakeup in the top 25 teams, as the top 16 spots remained unchanged. This includes 11 teams boasting perfect records, underscoring the fierce competition among the state’s best as we approach another action-packed weekend of high school football.

The most impressive performance came from West Linn, which made a stunning comeback against Sumner, Washington’s fourth-ranked team. After trailing 20-6, the Lions roared back to a thrilling 34-27 victory, scoring four touchdowns in the second half. They accumulated a remarkable 472 yards against the Spartans. Looking ahead, they face Skyview, another formidable opponent, on September 27.

Central Catholic maintained its spot at No. 2 by showcasing an explosive offense that racked up 65 points during their game against Sam Barlow, leading to a dominating average margin of victory at 27 points. The Rams look to continue their unbeaten streak against Clackamas on Thursday, September 26.

Tualatin holds the No. 3 spot after defeating Sherwood with a powerful display of football, scoring 55 points despite allowing 35. Tualatin’s defense is still ranked fifth in Oregon, providing balance to their impressive scoring ability. They prepare for a matchup against Union on September 27.

The Sheldon Irish are on a roll, boasting a strong defense that’s allowed only 23 points over their first three games. Their win against North Medford improved their record to 3-0. They look to extend that streak at home against winless McNary on September 27.

Lake Oswego also continues its winning ways, crushing Newberg 35-7. With two rushing touchdowns from LaMarcus Bell, the Lakers have shown they can dominant on both sides of the ball. They will face Ridgeview soon, aiming to keep their perfect record intact.

The competitive spirit of Oregon high school football is alive and well, as teams prepare for another exciting weekend of action. Be sure to catch the games and follow the rankings as the season unfolds.
