Philadelphia Eagles Eye Trade for Bryce Huff to 49ers

Philadelphia is buzzing with news as Digital Content Producer Bryce Huff is set to switch teams for the second consecutive year. Reports indicate that the Eagles are working on a trade involving the pass rusher and the San Francisco 49ers, according to sources. This trade could happen soon, possibly within a matter of days.

If the trade goes through before June 1, it would have financial implications for the Eagles. They would take on $12.1 million in dead money for 2025, resulting in a $4.7 million loss in cap savings. On the other hand, a post-June 1 trade would incur only $3 million in dead money while giving the Eagles approximately $4.4 million in savings, making it a more appealing option.

Huff, now a five-year NFL veteran, only spent one season with the Eagles after signing a three-year, $51.1 million deal during the 2024 free agency period. In his short time in Philadelphia, he recorded 13 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble across 12 games, where he made six starts as part of the Super Bowl-winning team. It seems Huff didn’t quite fit into the defensive scheme led by Vic Fangio, as he struggled to maintain the productivity that earned him his lucrative contract after a standout previous season.

With Huff potentially moving on, the Eagles’ pass-rushing lineup will likely include talents like Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, and newcomers Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche. Huff might find a better fit back with the 49ers, especially under defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who coached him during his tenure with the New York Jets. As Huff heads into his age-27 season, he has achieved 15.5 of his 20 career sacks in Saleh’s system.

Joining the 49ers would strengthen their depth chart behind standout pass rusher Nick Bosa and rookie Mykel Williams, who was a first-round pick in 2025.

With these developments surrounding Huff’s trade, Philadelphia continues to prepare for the upcoming season. Fans remain eager to see how the team adjusts both strategically and financially.
