Atlanta, Georgia is gearing up for an exciting start to the 2024-25 college football bowl season, which will officially kick off on Saturday, December 14, 2024. This season marks a significant shift in college football, as it introduces the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. Fans across the nation are buzzing with anticipation as the bracket for this year’s playoff and other bowl games will be announced today, Sunday, December 8.
The bowl season features a packed schedule, showcasing various teams competing for glory in different locations. One of the first big matchups to look out for is the Celebration Bowl, where South Carolina State is set to take on Jackson State at 12 p.m. on ABC, taking place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium right here in Atlanta.
Another exciting game on the slate is the College Football Playoff First Round featuring Indiana at Notre Dame, kicking off at 8 p.m. on ABC/ESPN. Additionally, SMU will be facing off against Penn State at noon in another playoff matchup at the University Park.
