Chicago Bears Welcome New Coaching Staff

The Chicago Bears are making significant changes to their coaching staff as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season. The team recently announced that they have hired Ben Johnson as their new head coach. Alongside him, the Bears have brought in two key assistants to form his coaching team.

On Sunday, the Bears added Dennis Allen, the former head coach of the New Orleans Saints, as their new defensive coordinator. Although Allen was let go mid-season in 2022, he remains highly respected in the league as one of the top defensive minds. His experience includes nearly three seasons as head coach of the Saints, where he recorded an overall record of 18-25. Before taking the head coach position, Allen was with the Saints as their defensive coordinator for seven seasons, demonstrating his deep knowledge of defensive strategies.

Joining Allen is Declan Doyle, who becomes the youngest offensive coordinator in the NFL at just 28 years old. Doyle has a background that includes two seasons as the tight ends coach for the Broncos and experience as an offensive assistant for the Saints under Allen from 2019 to 2022. His journey in football began at the University of Iowa, where he was an offensive student assistant.

Ben Johnson confirmed at his introductory press conference that he will take on the role of the team’s offensive play-caller. This decision continues a duty he held while serving as the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions.

As the Bears gear up for the season, the introduction of Johnson, Allen, and Doyle marks an important step in revitalizing the franchise and positioning them for future success.
