Las Vegas is buzzing with trade talks as star wide receiver Davante Adams is reportedly stirring interest from several NFL teams. The New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and New Orleans Saints are all keeping a close eye on the situation. According to sources, the Jets and Cowboys have already reached out to the Las Vegas Raiders to check in on Adams’ status.
Despite the growing interest, Las Vegas does not seem in a hurry to make a trade. Reports indicate that the Raiders would only think about allowing Adams to leave if they receive a second-round pick along with other compensation in return. The 31-year-old wide receiver is still under contract until 2026, but his contract includes a large base salary and a potential exit option after this season, which could complicate matters for interested teams.
The connection between Adams and the Jets makes a lot of sense given his past play with quarterback Aaron Rodgers while they were at the Green Bay Packers. Bringing Adams to New York would provide the Jets with two dynamic options in the passing game alongside current star Garrett Wilson. In New Orleans, Adams could reunite with Derek Carr, whom he played with in Las Vegas, thus creating another strong quarterback-wide receiver bond.
If the Cowboys were to secure Adams, they would create a lethal combination with standout receiver CeeDee Lamb. This tandem would pose a serious threat to opposing defenses and offer Dak Prescott more opportunities to make plays. The Pittsburgh Steelers, needing more depth at receiver, could certainly benefit from Adams working alongside George Pickens.
Despite missing last week’s game due to a hamstring injury, Adams has had a solid season so far with 18 catches for 209 yards and one touchdown in the first three games. As the trade rumors swirl, it is clear that Adams is one of the premier wide receivers in the league and can elevate any team’s offense significantly.
With such a competitive group of suitors and the Raiders holding the cards, fans will be eagerly watching to see where Davante Adams ends up before the trade deadline.
