Lady Lex Steals the Show

Kicking things off with a bang, the Lexington Lady Lex continued their incredible dominance by winning their 12th consecutive regional championship with a stunning score of just 56 team points. Talk about consistency! The team’s spirit and hard work truly shone as individual runners also stepped into the spotlight.

Leading the charge for the Lady Lex was Katya Prykhodko, who crossed the finish line in third place with an impressive time of 18:17.44. Close behind her was Gabi Twedt, bringing home a solid seventh-place finish at 18:48.98. Not to be outdone, Brailey Slone18:53.17. Other notable finishes included Adria Sharrock in 19th at 19:46.15 and Jenna Halfhill in 21st, with a time of 19:50.76. What a display of talent!

Minutemen are on the Rise

The excitement didn’t stop with the girls, as the Lexington boys also took home the win in the Division II regional championship, marking their second consecutive year and seventh win since 2014. They managed an astonishing score of just 34 team points! The Minutemen brought their A-game, thanks in part to the unstoppable Latrell Hughes, who won the overall regional championship with a time of 15:14.69.

Following closely behind were Lincoln Rice, finishing fourth with a time of 15:41.13; Will Hooper, who secured eighth place at 16:11.98; and Finn Devaney, nabbing ninth place at 16:12.28. Luke Haring also showed his prowess with a solid twelfth-place finish, clocking in at 16:18.72.

Individual Stars Shine Bright

Meanwhile, it was a day to remember for runners from other schools as well. Shelby’s Anna Will secured her spot for state, finishing tenth overall with an impressive time of 18:57.14. Then, a huge cheer for Clear Fork’s Katrina Neal, who qualified individually for state for the first time in her running career by finishing third in the Division III girls race, racing through the finish line in 18:33.54.

The Ontario Warriors also had a great outing, finishing fourth in the Division III boys race with a team score of 159, successfully qualifying as a team for state. Leading the charge was Xavier Trent, who placed third overall with a time of 16:05.83.

Crestview Cougars and Colonel Crawford Eagles Make the Cut

It was a big day for the Crestview Cougars as they advanced to the state meet, finishing ninth in the Division IV girls race with a score of 336 team points. Their star runner, Emmie Kemp, led the team with a commendable 22nd place finish, achieving a time of 20:00.67.

Not to be outdone, the Colonel Crawford Eagles took sixth place, earning a spot at state with 341 points. Meanwhile, Bucyrus’ Karter Boggs also celebrated an individual qualification, placing seventh in the boys race with a solid time of 16:08.56.
