In a thrilling showdown that showcased amazing talent and fierce competition, the Lone Peak Golf Team took home the championship trophy at the inaugural Black Desert High School Invitational held at the stunning Black Desert Golf Course in Southern Utah.

Dominating Performance

Playing over two days, the Lone Peak team impressed fans and competitors alike with a remarkable total score of 564, finishing an impressive 12-under par. This solid performance was enough to edge out The Woodlands, a competitive team from Houston, Texas, who finished just a few strokes behind with a score of 567. These two teams were the only ones to end the event under par, making it a fierce contest!

Putting Competition in the Spotlight

The Lone Peak squad’s coach, Derek Farr, expressed his joy and pride in his team’s remarkable play. His gratitude extended to the Black Desert Golf Resort and PGA officials for organizing such a fantastic event. Coming in hot for the third place was a team from Florida, Bolles, finishing the competition with a score of 587. Meanwhile, Olympus and Skyline tied for fourth place, both ending with a score of 596. Columbus from Florida rounded out the top six with a score of 605, while Herriman and Rockport from Illinois wrapped up the rankings at 623 and 655, respectively.

Blake Brown Shines Individually

A standout player for Lone Peak was sophomore Blake Brown, who didn’t just help his team win, but also bagged the individual title with a stunning score of 134, making him an incredible 10-under par. Blake’s first day was nothing short of spectacular as he shot a phenomenal 64, which remained the best round of the tournament by a cool four strokes! Day two saw him post a respectable 70, securing his place at the top.
