Hawaii High School Football Rankings Update

Honolulu – The latest update on the Hawaii On3 Massey Ratings has led to some interesting shifts in the rankings as of September 23. Four teams changed positions, including two in the top ten. As the competition heats up, only two teams among the top 25 remain undefeated, signaling a tough season ahead for all involved.

Still holding the top spot is the Mililani Trojans, who boast an undefeated record of 5-0 after a commanding 35-7 victory over Waipahu. The Trojans proved their strength with quarterback Treston McMillan leading the offensive charge, ensuring the game was almost decided by halftime. Their next big test comes on September 29 as they face off against the second-ranked Kahuku Red Raiders.

Kahuku bounced back this week after a tough loss to top-ranked Mater Dei, demonstrating their defensive prowess with a solid 21-0 shutout against Farrington. With this victory, they have now achieved their second shutout of the season, and their defense is currently allowing only 15.16 points per game, making them a tough opponent for Mililani next week.

Coming in at third is the Campbell Sabers, who are also undefeated with a record of 4-0 after defeating Kapolei. Quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele shone bright by passing for 203 yards and throwing four touchdowns. The Sabers will have a break before heading into a crucial game against Mililani on October 5.

Meanwhile, the St. Louis Crusaders sit fourth after extending their winning streak to four games following a 31-21 win over Punahou. Their next matchup, against sixth-ranked Kamehameha on October 6, promises to be a tough contest.

As the rankings continue to shuffle, the top ten remains competitive. The Punahou Buff n’ Blue are currently on a losing streak but will look to rebound against Damien Memorial School on September 29. The Waipahu Marauders face challenges with their offensive numbers slipping in recent games, and they will need to find their pace against tough upcoming opponents.

In addition, Ten teams such as Leilehua, Moanalua, and Waianae are also vying for a stronger position in the rankings as the season unfolds. With plenty of action on the horizon, fans have much to be excited about.
