Exciting New Hulu Series Features Christopher Meloni
In a recent announcement from Los Angeles, Christopher Meloni has been confirmed as the first cast member for a new, untitled series set in the realm of professional football on Hulu. Created by Dan Fogelman, known for his work on popular dramas, the show is aimed at capturing the essence of the NFL while exploring a generational family component. Although specific details about the plot and character arcs remain largely undisclosed, it has been revealed that Meloni will take on the role of a head coach for a football team.
Meloni, who has a solid connection to football, played quarterback during his high school years at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School in Virginia. His skills and leadership on the field earned him and his team a proud induction into the school’s hall of fame in 2007, thanks to their impressive undefeated season in 1978.
The actor is not new to football-themed productions; he previously appeared in the scripted series “The Magic Number” focusing on the Kansas City Chiefs and has contributed his voice to NFL advertisements on Peacock. Meloni is widely recognized for his performance as Elliot Stabler in the “Law & Order” franchise, where he has made a significant impact both on “Law & Order: SVU” and its spin-off, “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”
Beyond his notable roles in legal dramas, Meloni has also showcased his talent in various other series, including “Oz” on HBO, “Happy!” on Syfy, and “Underground” on WGN America. His film work includes memorable appearances in “Wet Hot American Summer,” “Man of Steel,” and “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.”
Under the production of 20th Television, Fogelman will not only be the writer but also an executive producer for the series. Joining him in the production team are Jess Rosenthal and others from Skydance Sports.
This new project marks Fogelman’s second series on Hulu, in addition to his current work on “Paradise,” which features actors Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden, and is gearing up for its second season. Fogelman is also involved in the beloved Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building,” adding further credibility to this exciting new venture.
