Bridgeton has something to celebrate as local standout Rob Ready has been named to the 2025 Academic All-District Baseball Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). This award celebrates some of the nation’s best student-athletes, recognizing their performance both on the baseball field and in the classroom.

Ready, a pitcher for the University of North Carolina (UNC) Greensboro, has achieved this recognition not once, but twice, having been selected as a CSC Academic All-District® Team member previously. He is a graduating senior who majored in economics, showcasing his dedication to both his studies and his sport. As a testament to his skills and hard work, he joins four other Spartans from the UNCG baseball team who were also honored in this category.

To qualify for the Academic All-District recognition, players must meet certain criteria. They must be a starter or an important reserve, holding a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average during their time at the school. Additionally, these athletes must have played in at least 90 percent of their games or made starts in 66 percent of them. For pitchers, earning this honor requires making 17 appearances or pitching at least 25 innings.

Rob Ready’s journey began at St. Augustine Prep, where he made a name for himself as a skilled player, even earning a spot on the Perfect Game All-Region first team. He is the son of Eileen and Robert Ready Jr., and comes from a family with a notable sports background—his uncle, Sean Landeta, had a long and successful career as a punter in the NFL, playing for five different teams over 22 seasons.

The CSC Academic All-America® program will reveal its first, second, and third-team honorees later this June, and Ready, along with his fellow honorees, will advance to the ballot for further recognition. This acknowledgment is a significant achievement that highlights the balance of academic excellence and athletic performance.

As the community of Bridgeton follows Ready’s accomplishments, it’s clear he embodies the spirit of hard work and dedication that the Academic All-District award aims to celebrate.
