Recently, boys sectional tournaments in Ohio have drawn to a close, bringing us some thrilling matchups and impressive victories. First up, let’s talk about Moeller junior Adam Anastasia, who snagged the sectional championship with a commendable straight-set victory (6-3, 7-5, 6-3) against Lakota West’s Jaden Worden. Both players are heading on to districts, proving that the competition is fierce!

Another standout player is Sycamore sophomore Abi Dinesh, who made a strong run in the sectional semifinals before falling to Anastasia. Also progressing to districts is Fairfield freshman Josef Alkuino, who shined after reaching the semifinals, where he lost to Worden (6-4, 6-1).

From the Mason area, junior Greg Bernadsky swept through the competition, defeating St. Xavier’s Nihal Narisetty with a fierce score (6-1, 6-3) to claim the sectional title, while still sending Narisetty through to districts alongside successful Mason freshmen, Sean Fu and Leo Qin.

Springboro also shines bright with the championship win by sophomore Peyton Nelson and senior Drew Baumgartner, who showcased their incredible teamwork by overcoming their own teammates (6-1, 6-4) in their sectional finals.

Cincinnati Country Day senior Nikhil Shah also emerged victorious in his sectional match (6-4, 6-4), advancing alongside his opponent Tyler Lammers who’s not to be overlooked.

Meanwhile, in Kentucky, the regional tournaments are drawing to an exciting conclusion this week with several players set to move on. In Region 8, Walton-Verona eighth-grader Finley Mackay reached the finals but faced tough competition and lost (6-1, 6-0) to Samuel Gurevich.
