What a fabulous day for golf enthusiasts in Treasure Valley! The 3A high school state tournament held on Tuesday turned out to be nothing short of thrilling, with our local high school golfers showcasing their incredible skills and determination!
Ambrose Girls Golf Team Dominates Again
Let’s kick things off with an amazing performance by the Ambrose Girls Golf Team, who secured their third consecutive team trophy. That’s right, folks—three in a row! The team shot an impressive combined score of 755, finishing a whopping 29 strokes ahead of second-place Soda Springs. Talk about making a statement!
Leading the charge was none other than Ashley Von Behren, a senior who continues to shine like a star on the course. She not only bagged her second straight girls’ individual state championship but also did it with style, finishing the two-day tournament with a score of 5-over 155! With a solid cushion of seven strokes ahead of her nearest competitor, it’s safe to say Von Behren owned that course.
Just to give you the rundown, Jayden Parker from Soda Springs took second place at +12, while Kamryn Mansfield from Grace rounded out the top-three hearts at +13. Let’s not forget about Ambrose’s Ella McNicholas, who placed seventh with a score of +34 (184)—a fantastic finish for a rising star!
Melba’s Boys Make Their Mark
Now, switching gears to the boys’ competition, we witnessed a breathtaking performance by Kelton Bodily, a freshman from Melba. He came into the final round three strokes behind and managed to rally back with a spectacular 3-under 69 on the day to finish with a total score of 143 (-1). That impressive finish granted him the boys individual state title and helped Melba secure a second-place team trophy with a score of 684 (+108).
Finishing just five strokes behind Bodily were Dylan McNeley from Rimrock and Axel Silcock from Declo, who tied for second place. Other notable finishes included Melba’s Colter Bodily and Cascade’s Cole Olson, both landing in ninth place with scores of +18 (162).

Moving on to the 4A state tournament, it was the Kimberly boys and girls teams who snagged the championships. The Kimberly girls absolutely crushed it, finishing ahead by 59 strokes with a combined score of 726. Meanwhile, the boys shot a solid 639, taking the title by 15 strokes over Snake River.
Individually, Wyatt Williams of Kimberly shone brightly, posting a two-day score of even par—his second straight individual title. Not to be overlooked, Kalvin Craig from Cole Valley Christian made a splash, finishing in eighth place with a score of +21 in the boys’ 4A competition. And in the girls’ 4A tournament, Tanli Lemoyne from Filer claimed the individual title with a solid score of 152 (+8).
