Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have made a significant move in their quarterback lineup just weeks ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. The team has signed veteran quarterback Tim Boyle, marking his journey to a new chapter in what will be his eighth NFL season. Boyle, who is 30 years old, is joining his seventh NFL team after initially starting his career with the Green Bay Packers back in 2018.

During his time with the Packers, Boyle spent three seasons as a backup to Aaron Rodgers, where he only managed to attempt four regular-season passes. His first taste of starting came in 2021 with the Detroit Lions, where he faced a tough situation. In three starts, Boyle struggled, losing each game and finishing the season with more interceptions (six) than touchdowns (three). Despite this, he managed to complete an impressive 64.9% of his passes for a Lions team that ended with a 3-13-1 record that year.

Boyle’s career has taken him to various teams, including the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets, where he had two more starts in 2023. He shared a quarterback room with Rodgers again during that time, who was recovering from an Achilles injury. Last year, Boyle had stints with both the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants, totaling 274 yards, one touchdown, and one interception across three appearances.

Interestingly, Boyle’s journey to the NFL was not a straightforward one. He went undrafted after a lackluster college career at the University of Connecticut, where he completed only 48.4% of his passes and threw just one touchdown against thirteen interceptions. Nevertheless, he has managed to extend his career in the league.

The Titans are expected to snag Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, as they look to solidify their quarterback situation. The team’s quarterback room now also includes newcomer Brandon Allen and Will Levis, a former second-round pick who had a tough run as the starter, going 5-16 over the past two seasons.

General manager Mike Borgonzi indicated that while the Titans are likely to choose a quarterback, they are keeping their options open. “Everything is still on the table,” he mentioned, emphasizing the importance of first building up the offensive line. The Titans added tackle Dan Moore and guard Kevin Zeitler to strengthen their front line.

The Titans are gearing up for what could be a transformative season ahead, with significant changes to their roster that fans are eager to see unfold.
