Fort Worth, Texas – On Friday, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III, known to many as RG3, was involved in a serious accident on Interstate 35W with his family. The incident occurred around 11:48 a.m. near Alta Mesa Boulevard, affecting his Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van and three other vehicles.

In a Facebook post, Griffin described the experience as the “worst accident of our lives.” He recounted that the family’s van ricocheted off the highway divider multiple times and blew out both front tires. Thankfully, he shared that his wife and children were safe. The family was en route to TCU’s game against Colorado, where Griffin was scheduled to be a broadcaster.

Robert Griffin III is a former Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor University, earning the prestigious honor in 2011. He was drafted second overall by Washington in 2012, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year and leading his team to a division title. After stints with the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, he transitioned to a successful career in sports media, currently working as a college football analyst, co-hosting a podcast, and engaging in charitable endeavors with his wife, Grete.
