NFL Week 4 Recap: Surprises, Setbacks, and Standouts

This week’s NFL action brought us plenty of surprises and some unfortunate injuries across the league. In New Orleans, the Saints faced the Buffalo Bills and held their own, despite losing 31-19. Quarterback Spencer Rattler, celebrating his 25th birthday, struggled to earn his first win, leaving him with a 0-10 record. His performance showed promise, however, as he didn’t appear overwhelmed by the Bills’ defense.

Over in New York, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart made his first NFL start in a tightly contested match against the previously undefeated Los Angeles Chargers. Dart led his team to a surprising victory by throwing for one touchdown and running for another. Unfortunately, he will have to adjust without Malik Nabers, who suffered a torn ACL just half a game into their on-field partnership.

The injury parade continued for the Chargers as offensive tackle Joe Alt exited the game early with an ankle injury. This adds more strain on a team grappling with injuries, including All-Pro Rashawn Slater, who is out for the season.

The Kansas City Chiefs capitalized on the Chargers’ setback by decisively beating the Baltimore Ravens 37-20, with QB Patrick Mahomes throwing four touchdown passes. The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles also maintained their strong performance by edging out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-25, remaining unbeaten at 4-0.

On the injury front, the Tennessee Titans are still searching for their first win, with rookie QB Cam Ward struggling. Meanwhile, players like Bijan Robinson and James Cook continued to shine, showcasing their talent by consistently racking up significant yardage month after month.

The Buffalo Bills not only secured a win this week but also extended their record at home to 14 consecutive victories, impressively scoring at least 24 points in each of those games. In a notable historical moment, the NFL played its first regular-season game in Ireland, with the Pittsburgh Steelers defeating the Minnesota Vikings at the iconic Croke Park.

As the season progresses, teams will be looking to shake off the setbacks and improve their standings. With emerging stars and veterans showing their skills, the rest of the season promises to be exciting.
