It’s that time of year again! With summer in the rearview mirror, high school sports are kicking off in full swing. Whether you’re a parent, a student, or simply a fan cheering from the sidelines, the excitement is undeniable! From thrilling football clashes to intense volleyball matches, here’s what you missed on September 6, 2025!

High School Football Highlights

Football fans were treated to an action-packed night, as local teams took the field and battled it out for victory. Natrona County had a strong showing against Rock Springs, dominating with a score of 28-6. Meanwhile, Lander secured a convincing win over Green River with a score of 29-8.

Not to be outdone, Burns delivered a shutout against Lyman, winning 28-0. If that wasn’t enough, Farson-Eden really put on a show, running circles around Kaycee and ending the game with an impressive score of 60-19. Rounding out an exciting day, Mountain View took on Rich from Utah and came away with a decisive victory at 54-15.

Volleyball Action at the Evanston Border Wars

In a series of nail-biting volleyball matches, Powell snagged a close win over Rock Springs, finishing the match at 2-1. Bonneville also overpowered Rock Springs with the same score. The team from Bear Lake kept their momentum going with a solid 2-0 win, while Lyman also triumphed over Rock Springs, defeating them 2-0.

Green River proved to be on top of their game, defeating Lyman 2-0 before proceeding to beat North Summit and South Summit, both with a score of 2-0. They further showcased their skills by defeating Lander with an emphatic 2-0 score. Mountain View faced some ups and downs, overcoming Juan Diego with a 2-0 win but falling to Star Valley and Kelly Walsh, both at 2-0. However, they rallied to beat Tabiona 2-0. On the other hand, Lyman continued their winning streak by defeating Manila 2-0, and also managing a win against Juan Diego, 2-1, as well as Rock Springs with another 2-0 victory.

Swimming and Diving Scores from the Green River Pre-Invite

Over at the swimming pool, Jackson took the lead in the Green River Pre-Invite with a total of 337 points, showcasing their strengths in the water. Riverton followed in a respectable second place with 251.5 points, while Green River secured 174 points for third. Evanston and Kemmerer rounded out the top five with scores of 141 and 133 points respectively.

Sublette County, Lyman, Rock Springs, and Rawlins each put in solid performances, finishing off the meet with scores of 96, 91, 51, and 40 points respectively.

Cross Country Results at the Kelly Walsh Beartrap Invite

In cross country, the competition heated up at the Kelly Walsh Beartrap Invite. The Green River girls’ team finished in fifth place with a score of 145, with Adri Curtis shining as the top runner for the Lady Wolves, placing 11th.

On the boys’ side, Green River finished in sixth place with 159 points. Jessie Kimble, a standout runner, crossed the finish line in 20th place, adding to the team’s strong performance.
