Local Crime Report: Chase and Animal Cruelty Arrests
On April 26, a man named Christopher Hansen led deputies on a wild six-mile chase through the streets of Twentynine Palms. It all started when he failed to yield during a traffic stop, and things escalated quickly as he sped at high rates, ran stop signs, and even drove into oncoming traffic. After a foot chase, authorities apprehended him, and he was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Hansen is currently held at the West Valley Detention Center on a $30,000 bail.
In a more heartbreaking incident, Marcella Tejeda was arrested on August 18 for allegedly killing her brother’s one-month-old puppy during a heated argument. Reportedly, she shook the puppy and threw it against a window, leading to the tragedy. Tejeda is also being held at the West Valley Detention Center on a $30,000 bail for suspicion of animal cruelty.
