With two dozen eager runners ready to face the competition, it was a sunny day perfect for racing.

Three-Mile Race Showcases Stellar Performances

The main event featured a challenging three-mile course designed for varsity and more seasoned runners, while newer faces had their own chance to shine on a shorter 1.5-mile course. The crowd was electric as the runners took off, and the Islander boys certainly made their mark!

Leading the pack was Vincent Russo, who crossed the finish line ahead of everyone else in the 3-mile Senior/Invite race. Vincent clocked in an impressive personal record of 15:44.7, giving a stellar improvement of 1 minute and 46 seconds from his previous best. What a way to kick off the season!

Another standout was Andrew Buck, who also crushed his personal record with a finishing time of 16:52.3, which was 2.5 minutes faster than his last performance. And let’s not forget about Nathan Ayan, who completed the trio at the top with a solid time of 17:06.
