Jackson Hole High School Swim Team Makes a Splash in New Season

As the crisp autumn air settles into Jackson Hole, the excitement of a new high school swim season has kicked off along with it. The Jackson Hole High School girls’ swimming team dove into their season on September 4, 2025, eager to make waves at the Teton County/Jackson Community Recreation Center. With high hopes and a deep line-up, this year promises to be one for the record books.

Breaking Records and Setting Standards

Since 2022, the team has been nothing short of impressive, with an astounding 18 school records already established. These ambitious Broncs have made a habit of securing their place at or near the podium during state meets for the past three years. This season, the squad is looking to build on that success with their strongest line-up in years, filled with talent and ambition.

Two standout seniors, Amaya Olivieri and Maren Tattersall, lead the pack, holding an impressive 24 records combined on the school’s record board. Their experience will be invaluable as they head into their final season, particularly after both swimmers earned All-State honors last year. Joining them are nine other state qualifiers, ready to showcase their skills and support the team.

Strong Performances in First Meet

In their first test of the season, the Broncs traveled to Lander for a relay event, and what a debut it was! Competing against five other teams, they emerged victorious with a whopping 339 points to their name. Olivieri’s performance in the 50-yard freestyle saw her clock in at an impressive 25.68 seconds, securing her spot at the state meet.

Not to be outdone, newcomer Dalia Leoni made quite the impression on her first outing, snagging second place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:08.10, also qualifying for state in both the 200 and 100 freestyle events. Adding to the excitement, Indi Olivieri, Amaya’s younger sister, made her mark with a victory in the 100 backstroke timed at 1:06.79, which qualified her for state as well.

While the Broncs graduated their only diver from last year, Colette Danby, they’ve welcomed three new divers to the team, including senior Amelia Toups, adding depth and diversity to their roster.

Looking Ahead

Last season, the team finished fourth overall at the state meet, just eight points away from podium placement, while previously placing second in 2023. With eleven out of fourteen returning swimmers back this season, there’s a buzz of optimism in the air. Coach Jim Jenkins described this year’s team as the biggest and strongest group in quite some time and is aiming high for the upcoming state meet scheduled for November 6-7 in Laramie.

With spirited competition among the senior swimmers, captain selections were particularly challenging, reflecting the hard work and determination of the students. The team also benefits from strong competitors like Brooke Hudson, Audrey Hunt, Tawnya Ramos-Rivera, Isa Ramella, and Anna Baxter.

A Busy Schedule Ahead

The schedule is packed with upcoming meets, including events in Green River, Natrona County, and the conference meet held in Casper. Coach Jenkins has emphasized the importance of ongoing dedication and practice as the team gears up to contend for the leading spots in the state.

As the Broncs embark on this exciting season, the community is rallying behind them, feeling a mix of anticipation and pride. With the talent, dedication, and drive this team has shown already, there’s no denying that the Jackson Hole High School Swim Team is ready to make waves this season!
