RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan University Women’s Basketball team has achieved a significant milestone by securing a spot on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25. With a remarkable team GPA of 3.667, the Jaspers find themselves tied for 20th in the NCAA alongside the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Heather Vulin, the Jaspers have displayed impressive academic performance, making appearances on the WBCA Academic Top 25 three times in the past four years. The team’s GPAs over the last few seasons are as follows:
- 2021-22 – Team GPA: 3.46
- 2022-23 – Team GPA: 3.576
- 2024-25 – Team GPA: 3.667
In addition to Manhattan’s achievement, Saint Peter’s and Head Coach Jen Leedham were also recognized as the other representative from the MAAC conference in the Top 25 list. Furthermore, schools like Quinnipiac, Marist, Merrimack, and Fairfield received Special Mention by the WBCA for their commendable academic performances.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 honors NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year college women’s basketball teams throughout the nation that achieve the highest combined GPAs for all student-athletes on their rosters over the course of the season. The 2024-25 season marks the 30th year in which the WBCA has compiled these honor rolls.
