As the sun set on another thrilling high school boys track and field season in the Greater Taunton area, we celebrate the incredible achievements of our local athletes. The year 2025 has been full of memorable moments, with athletes from four area teams showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication.
Strong Performances from Local Teams
This season wasn’t just average; it was a roller-coaster ride of emotions and amazing performances! The Dighton-Rehoboth boys made quite the impression by producing a pair of South Coast Conference champions, lighting up the track with their prowess. Meanwhile, the Taunton High Tigers boasted a solid record of 3-2 in the Hockomock League. They didn’t stop there, securing runner-up positions at the Hockomock championship, and cheering fans went wild with excitement!
The Bridgewater-Raynham team was a force to be reckoned with as they excelled in various invitationals, frequently finding themselves near the top in non-league competitions. The impressive consistency displayed left many in awe. Meanwhile, Bristol-Plymouth held their own, facing the rigors of competition entirely on the road yet managing to deliver solid results that made their supporters proud.

In addition to team efforts, we have a standout individual making waves this season. The 2025 Taunton Daily Gazette Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year has been announced, and it’s none other than a senior sprinter from Taunton who stole the show. With a spectacular season, this athlete is sure to be deeply missed by Taunton High as he moves on to bigger challenges ahead.
He excelled in both the 200 meters and 400 meters events. Clocking in at a personal best of 0:22.35, he finished 9th at the MIAA Division 1 Championship in the 200 meters. When it comes to the 400 meters, he didn’t fall short either; achieving an 8th place finish at the MIAA Meet of Champions with a time of 0:49.17. The excitement didn’t end there as he also secured a runner-up position in the 400 meters at the Hockomock championship with a time of 0:49.44, and finished 3rd in the 200 meters.
Competing in the New England Outdoor Track & Field Championship, he made quite the impact by finishing 12th in the 400 meters with a time of 0:49.74. Amazingly, he matched his personal best again at the prestigious Adidas Track & Field Nationals, showing everyone that he was truly on fire this season.
Additionally, he played a crucial role in the 4×400 meter relay team, clinching a 3rd place finish at the Hockomock Championship with a time of 3:30 and finishing 15th at the MIAA Division 1 Championship.
Honoring Fellow Athletes
In more exciting news, the First Team All-Scholastics this season includes a junior sprinter whose personal records in both the 200 meters (0:22.65) and 400 meters (0:49.36) showed tremendous growth and determination. There were also numerous seniors who proudly set personal bests in their events and significantly contributed to relay teams.
A special mention goes out to Blake, who was named the 2025 Fans’ Choice Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year after garnering a whopping 60% of the votes! That’s some serious love from the fans!

The Second Team All-Scholastics list this season included names like Jaeden Thompson from Taunton, Cole Bridges from Bridgewater-Raynham, Evan Banville, Bryant Correy, and Nate Gagne all from Bristol-Plymouth, along with Nicholas DeCilio, Jeremy Gale, and Seamus Sullivan from Dighton-Rehoboth.
