Los Angeles – NFL running back Najee Harris recently faced a surprising setback when he sustained a superficial eye injury during a Fourth of July event. The injury stemmed from a fireworks mishap, which affected multiple attendees, including Harris himself. According to his agent, Doug Hendrickson, Harris is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the upcoming 2025 NFL season.
Hendrickson released a statement detailing the incident, confirming that Harris was in attendance during the fireworks display that led to injuries. Despite the scary situation, he reassured fans that Harris will be prepared for the new season. However, Harris is likely to miss the start of training camp, which kicks off on July 17 for the Chargers.
The 27-year-old Harris recently signed a one-year contract with the Chargers, worth up to $9.25 million, after spending his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has consistently proven himself, playing in every regular season game and amassing over 1,000 rushing yards in each of those seasons. Harris earned a Pro Bowl selection in his rookie year and has recorded impressive stats throughout his career, totaling 4,312 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns across 68 games.
As the training camp season approaches, teams are busy making preparations. Teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals are analyzing their rosters and strategizing for upcoming position battles.
Meanwhile, players such as Rashod Bateman of the Ravens and Lane Johnson of the Eagles are keeping their eyes on personal and team goals as the new season approaches. While Bateman believes his teammate Zay Flowers can achieve over 1,300 receiving yards, Johnson is expressing thoughts on the “tush push” play and its future in the game.
As excitement builds for the 2025 NFL season, there’s plenty to watch as training camps gear up across the league.
