This offseason has been an exciting time for football fans across the country as the NFL gears up for the 2025 season. With teams busy transitioning players, hiring new coaches, and drafting young talents, there’s only a short time left before the action kicks off in preseason games this summer.
One major highlight still on the agenda is the unveiling of new uniforms. While last year saw four teams revamp their looks entirely, this year’s changes are more subtle, with no complete rebrands. However, fans can look forward to several throwbacks and alternate uniforms making their debut this fall. Almost half of the league will be affected by these updates.
For instance, the Washington Commanders are bringing back a nostalgic look from their “Super Bowl Era.” The new uniforms feature a white jersey with burgundy pants and a distinct “W” on the burgundy helmet. These will be worn at home games against the Seahawks in Week 9, the Broncos in Week 13, and a special game on Christmas Day against the Cowboys in Week 17.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints have introduced a fresh alternate white helmet to pair with their white color rush uniform, replacing the black helmet used in recent seasons. It’s expected that the new helmets will add a stylish twist, but no specific game dates have been shared yet.
As for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, both teams are set to announce alternate uniform styles on July 15. The Cleveland Browns will unveil a new alternate helmet on July 16. Following this trend, the Pittsburgh Steelers will reveal new yellow throwback helmets and matching uniforms on July 21, while the Green Bay Packers will showcase new throwback helmets and uniforms on July 23.
Additionally, the Seattle Seahawks will introduce a white road version of their beloved 1990s throwbacks, with the timing for its on-field debut yet to be decided.
Furthermore, the NFL is launching a “Rivalries” program starting in 2025, introducing fresh uniform designs for divisional matchups. The home team in these divisional games will sport the new jerseys against any of their three division rivals. The first group of teams to receive new jerseys will include teams from the AFC East and NFC West, specifically the Bills, Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, 49ers, Seahawks, Cardinals, and Rams. Each year, more divisions will be added.
As the NFL offseason continues to advance, fans will surely be eager to see how these new uniforms will look on the field come game day.
