Buffalo Bills Restructure Roster with New Faces at Cornerback and Wide Receiver

Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Bills have made significant changes to their roster as they gear up for the upcoming 2025 NFL season. The team has decided to part ways with two veteran players, cornerback Rasul Douglas and wide receiver Amari Cooper, both of whom will not return after this offseason. This decision signals a new direction for the team, with fresh talent expected to fill those roles.

Interestingly, neither Douglas nor Cooper has garnered substantial interest from any of the **31 other NFL teams**, as both remain unsigned as summer approaches. Douglas, who had a downturn in performance last year—failing to record an interception and allowing a **completion rate of 72.9% when targeted**—has reportedly received offers, including one from the Miami Dolphins. On the other hand, Cooper’s output also fell short, with only **20 receptions for 297 yards**, raising concerns about his speed and ability to create separation from defenders.

In light of these changes, the Bills have made some strategic additions. Instead of re-signing Douglas, they brought on Tre’Davious White and Dane Jackson while also using a first-round draft pick to select Maxwell Hairston from Kentucky. At the wide receiver position, the Bills picked up Joshua Palmer early in free agency and took a chance on former second-round pick Elijah Moore.

While it appears Douglas and Cooper are likely to end up on different teams this season, there is one intriguing possibility. Gabriel Davis, a former Bills player, was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars after just one season with the team. Davis has the potential to return to Buffalo, thanks to his previous success and connection with quarterback Josh Allen. He has drawn interest from the San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants, but all three teams are currently waiting for medical clearance following Davis’s meniscus surgery.

As it stands, Cooper is ranked as the **No. 11 free agent** available, while Douglas and Davis sit at **No. 80 and No. 93**, respectively, on the list of free agents. With the talent available, it would be surprising if these players did not find new homes soon. However, their return to Buffalo looks less likely as the team pivots towards a new strategy for the upcoming season.
