UT Tyler, Texas – The baseball season at the University of Texas at Tyler has come to a close, and senior Dalton Robertson Niebur has made quite an impact. He has wrapped up his final season with an impressive collection of achievements that highlight one of the most remarkable years in the history of UT Tyler Baseball.

In a season filled with accomplishments, Niebur earned his first career Gold Glove, showcasing his defensive skills on the field. He was also named a D2 Baseball First Team All-American and received Honorable Mention All-American honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Niebur’s contributions were key as UT Tyler Baseball set a new program record for wins in a season and reached their first-ever NCAA Division II World Series.

Defensively, Niebur stood out significantly, finishing the year with an impressive 19 assists, 3 putouts, and, notably, zero errors. His performance on the mound was equally notable; he had an outstanding 1.41 earned run average (ERA) over 51 innings while limiting opponents to a batting average of just .209.

The American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods recently announced the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams across all eight divisions of collegiate and high school baseball. Since 2007, these awards have honored the best defensive players, and many past winners have gone on to play in the Major Leagues.

Each level, including NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA, and high school teams, are evaluated by ABCA coaches committees for these honors. The Gold Glove program has been a pivotal part of recognizing defensive excellence in the sport.

This year marks the 18th presentation of the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards at the collegiate level, although no awards were given in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
