MIAMI — Law enforcement is actively seeking to arrest former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder. This situation arises from an incident that allegedly took place during a celebrity boxing event last month, according to an official warrant. The warrant details a specific charge for attempted murder with a firearm. Furthermore, it requires Brown to post a $10,000 bond and to remain on house arrest until his trial.

The altercation unfolded during a boxing event hosted by popular online streamer Adin Ross, where gunfire erupted. Witnesses indicated that Brown was involved in a fight, which ultimately led to someone firing a gun. Following the shooting, police briefly detained Brown, who later took to social media to offer his side of the story. In his post, he claimed that he was attacked by multiple individuals who were attempting to steal his jewelry. He stated, “I was jumped by multiple individuals… Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.”

Despite his claims, the warrant notes that witnesses have identified Brown as the shooter. During the police investigation, two shell casings were found at the scene, and one individual involved in the scuffle described how Brown allegedly ran towards him with a firearm after the fight was over, shooting at him twice. This person was also able to identify Brown from surveillance footage.

This incident adds to a long history of controversial behavior from Brown, who once seemed on track for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After spending nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he faced multiple disruptions in his career. Brown’s time with the Oakland Raiders ended before it even began, mainly due to injuries and conflicts with the coaching staff. He had a brief stint with the New England Patriots, which ended after legal troubles emerged involving allegations of sexual assault.

Most recently, Brown played two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he even won a Super Bowl. However, his career ended suddenly when he left the field mid-game in 2021. This latest charge adds yet another chapter to the complex and turbulent story of Antonio Brown.
