One of the standout performers was Hunter Sprangers, a senior from Kimberly, who claimed the state title in the boys shot put with an impressive throw of 61 feet, 3.5 inches. Before stepping onto the field, Hunter took a moment for some reflective thinking, which he credited as key to his mental preparation. His title-winning toss came on his third attempt, showing incredible confidence as he faced fierce competition.
Following closely behind was Connor Fontaine from De Pere, who managed to snag the silver medal with a respectable throw of 60 feet, 10 inches. It’s clear that both athletes brought their best, making the competition fierce!

Celebrating with her teammates gave her the boost she needed to head back to the triple jump pit, where she secured the gold medal with her best jump.
Interestingly, Celia shared that her personal best jump is actually 40 feet, 4 inches, and she enjoys being in a chasing position during competitions. It certainly fuels her drive!

The excitement didn’t end with Sprangers and Gentile. Calvin Van Rossum, a junior from Little Chute, earned a silver medal in the Division 2 boys high jump with a height of 6 feet, 6 inches. He’s aiming high for next season, aspiring to reach heights of 6 feet, 8 or 9 inches.
In the pole vault, Brooke Waddell from Appleton North wowed the crowd by setting a school record, finishing second with a height of 12 feet, 6 inches. Brooke plans to continue her track career at UW-La Crosse, wanting to set a new standard for future athletes at her school.
Neenah’s Mazie Olkowski crossed the finish line in third place in the girls 3,200 run, clocking in at 10:45.68. While she felt some disappointment for not hitting a personal best, her effort was commendable. Waupaca’s Owen Lencki also displayed impressive talent, securing third place in the Division 2 boys 1,600 with a time of 4:17.07.
More Athletes Making Their Mark
The Little Chute girls’ 3,200 relay team finished fourth in Division 2 with a time of 9:26.89. Similarly, St. Mary Catholic’s team matched that feat by finishing fourth in Division 3, timing in at 9:51.69. Notable fourth-place finishes also came from Olivia Santos from Manawa in the D3 discus and Cailey Peterson from Wrightstown in the D2 pole vault, further demonstrating the depth of talent present at the meet.
