A Stellar Performance from Brynn Roehrich

In the Class B girls tournament, Clark-Willow Lake’s sophomore star, Brynn Roehrich, has taken the lead after firing off an even-par 72. Roehrich had a bit of a rocky start, trailing by three shots after the front nine. But this young golfer found her stride on the back nine, rallying with a remarkable 2-under 34. Claire Crawford’s Commanding Lead

In the Class A girls tournament, Abderdeen Roncalli’s Claire Crawford has secured a four-shot lead with her solid score of 76. With such strong performances, her team is generating serious momentum to clinch a win.

Aberdeen Central Girls Golf Team is on Fire

What’s even more exciting? The Aberdeen Central girls golf team is leading the overall team standings with a fabulous score and is currently enjoying a 10-shot advantage! They are aiming for their first-ever state title. The cheers must be ringing loud as they push towards that historic win!

Class B Boys Tournament Heats Up

The excitement doesn’t stop there! The state Class B boys tournament is also heating up at Cattail Crossing Golf Course in Watertown. Dell Rapids is sitting at the top of the team standings with a score of 257, just one shot ahead of Miller, keeping the competition fierce.

Clark-Willow Lake and Deubrook Area are making solid impacts too, currently placed fifth and sixth with scores of 288 and 293, respectively. They are working hard to challenge for a better spot in the final standings!

Notable Performances from Area Golfers

As we take a closer look, we find other notable participants in the Class B girls tournament. Ayla Texley, Taryn Hettick, and Brooklyn Gaddis have tied for ninth place, all posting solid scores of 88. These young golfers are proving they have what it takes to compete at such a high level!

Over in the boys’ category, senior Alfie Henderson of Flandreau wowed everyone by shooting the best round of the day in the Class B tournament. His score of 1-under 71 has put him on the leaderboard, leading by just one shot over Wyatt Larson and Tannen Auch. The defending champion, Gavin Colson, is trying to keep pace, finding himself among five golfers tied at scores of 73.

Upcoming Challenges

As for the Class AA girls standings, Mitchell is currently in second with a score of 327, falling behind Aberdeen Central’s 317. The defending champion, Watertown, unfortunately does not have enough golfers in the field to compete for team honors this time around.

With several other local golfers in action within the Class A girls standings, promising performances from Mackenzie Wegehaupt and Kenzley Heath are worth noting as they aim for their own success on the green.

A Final Push

Play in all four tournaments will conclude with another 18 holes on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. You can bet everybody here in Watertown is excited to see how the teams unfold their strategy and finesse over the final day of competition. Remember, the top six teams and the best 25 individual players from each tournament will be honored with awards. The tension is building, so stay tuned for the finale!
