Leading Through Change
Sharing the spotlight, Jaclyn McPhee, a senior at Braintree High, reflects on the adjustments she has made as she steps into a leadership role on the team without her twin sister, Catherine, who chose to participate in spring track this season. As the only senior on the Braintree Wamps softball team, McPhee has taken on captain responsibilities alongside junior Sara Harvey. She has not only adapted to these leadership roles but has also been a positive influence on younger teammates.
Currently, McPhee is showcasing her skills as well, boasting a batting average of .423 after completing just 9 games in her senior year. The team is determined as ever to qualify for the Division I state tournament, and they are focused on improving their record moving forward!
As the season heats up, it will be exciting to see how Braintree’s young athletes continue to shine and uplift one another. The passion and dedication of these student-athletes certainly make the school community proud!
