Everyone is eagerly anticipating what the final top 25 rankings of the 2025 high school season will reveal. Trust us, it’s anyone’s game with such thrilling shifts happening in the rankings!
This week has seen a flurry of changes, especially as the state playoffs wrapped up in warmer regions. Some familiar names faced early exits in surprising playoff upsets that ended their seasons sooner than expected. One of the headlines we can’t overlook is a notable matchup in Florida where two top 25 teams clashed, living up to all the hype that surrounded it. The postseason is always an exciting time and certainly hasn’t disappointed this year!
New Faces in the Rankings
This week, we witnessed the debut of Crespi from Encino, California, entering the rankings at an impressive top 20 spot. This is their first notable appearance, and they’ve certainly made a splash! Crespi received a first-round bye in the Quadrant 4 of California’s CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs, positioning them for a strong push in the upcoming games.
Standout Performances
Another highlight came courtesy of the Ascenders, who completed their remarkable season with a final record of 24-1. Their impressive performance ended with a thrilling 15-game winning streak. Notably, they faced stiff competition, securing 12 wins against teams that rank within the top 50 nationally. Their batting average was an incredible .366, and they boasted a team ERA of just 1.54. With 12 pitchers contributing, the depth was truly commendable. Standout pitcher Chase Bentley wrapped up his season with a spectacular 10-0 record and only 5 walks in 59.2 innings. In the Pacific Northwest, Puyallup continues to soar with a perfect record of 23-0. They are riding high after defeating Curtis and Sumner in consecutive matches.
