The annual Bobcat Track and Field Meet welcomed a whopping 21 girls’ teams and 23 boys’ teams, turning the event into one of the most exciting afternoons on the track calendar.
Top Performers Steal the Show
In the midst of vibrant displays of athleticism, the Thermopolis boys emerged victorious, scoring a remarkable 136 points. Closely trailing them, Lovell took second place with 81 points, and the competition was fierce as Worland fought hard for third place, ending with 79.5 points. Kemmerer and Burlington weren’t too far behind, ensuring a tightly contested race.
Worland’s girls had a stellar showing as well, dominating the scoreboard with an impressive 170 points to take the overall girls’ team title. Following in their footsteps was Kemmerer with 84 points, and Big Piney came in third with 66 points. Green River and Pinedale also made their mark, rounding out the girls’ standings.

In the thrilling Boys 100 Meters, Hunter Krei from Lovell took the gold with a swift time of 11.21 seconds, while Douglas Anderson from Saratoga finished with a commendable second place at 11.48 seconds. In the Boys 200 Meters, Gavin Robertson from Lovell sprinted to victory with a speedy time of 22.54 seconds, closely followed by Delmonico Dukes of Thermopolis at 22.87 seconds.
For the middle-distance runners, the Boys 400 Meters saw Zavier Clifford of Big Piney clinch victory with a time of 52.87 seconds. Meanwhile, Lovell’s Matthew Newman dominated the Boys 800 Meters with a finished time of 2:04.45, just edging out Cole Keller from Thermopolis, who completed the race in 2:05.30.
Long-distance runners were not left out. Trajn Swalstad from Worland proved his stamina in the Boys 1600 Meters, clocking in at 4:23.34, and for the two-mile run, it was Jadeth Elder from Thermopolis who took the lead with a time of 10:45.58.

In the Girls 800 Meters, Micah Strong from Big Piney made her presence known by taking first place with a time of 2:24.98. The distance runners also made waves, with Jolynn Jones from Big Piney seizing victory in the Girls 1600 Meters with an impressive 5:23.10.
