Los Angeles – The Los Angeles Chargers made an exciting move in the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting wide receiver Tre Harris from the University of Mississippi in the second round, picking him at No. 55 overall. This addition aims to strengthen the Chargers’ offense as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Harris had a standout year in 2024, demonstrating his potential and play-making abilities despite being limited to just eight games. He finished the season with an impressive 60 receptions, racking up 1,030 receiving yards and scoring seven touchdowns. His performance was noteworthy as he became the sixth player in Ole Miss history to surpass the 1,000-yard mark in a single season, ranking second in the SEC. His stellar season earned him Second-Team All-American honors and recognition as a semifinalist for the prestigious Biletnikoff Award, which is awarded to the nation’s top receiver.

Over his two-year college career, Harris accumulated 2,015 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns from 114 receptions. He stands out in SEC history as one of the few players to average over 100 yards per game throughout his college career, further solidifying his place in the record books with ten career games of over 100 yards receiving, landing him fourth in Ole Miss history.

What sets Harris apart is not just his yardage, but his big-play capability. In the 2024 season, he led the SEC with 12 receptions of 30 yards or more and tied for the lead with seven receptions of 40 yards or more. His impressive statistics also include a passer rating of 149.5 when targeted, ranking him third in the nation among all FBS receivers.

Before joining the Rebels, Harris spent his initial college years at Louisiana Tech, where he played 31 games and gathered 1,529 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, earning First-Team All-Conference USA honors before transferring.

Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Harris shined at Ovey Comeaux High School as both a wide receiver and a quarterback, earning all-district and all-state honors on the football field and showcasing his skills on the basketball court as well.
