Herriman’s Commanding Win Over Bingham

Now, let’s talk about some thrilling recent games. Herriman just pulled off an impressive 19-7 victory over Bingham in a Region 2 softball showdown! It was an intense match where it looked like Bingham might take an early advantage. They jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead but had trouble capitalizing, leaving the bases loaded not once, but twice!

But don’t count Herriman out! They tied the game with a fantastic home run from Kinlee McDermaid, following a hit from her teammate Keira Rodriguez. That brought the crowd to their feet! Then, Jaylee Hansen stepped up to the plate and hit a clutch two-run triple that propelled Herriman into the lead.

In the fourth inning, Herriman really turned up the heat by scoring five runs, widening their lead to a solid seven runs. Bingham attempted to bounce back, scoring two more runs that inning, but they just couldn’t keep pace with Herriman’s relentless offense. Herriman’s pitchers, including Ashlyn Beratto and Sierra Prescott, played a significant role in securing this win, with Prescott fanning six batters in the final four innings!

This victory was a true team effort, and Coach Heidi McKissick certainly had plenty to smile about after watching her players rise to the occasion. It’s no surprise that the team’s next game is lined up against West Field on April 9, while Bingham will head to battle Riverton on April 8 for an opportunity to turn things around.

Exciting Future Ahead for College Softball

And for those keeping an eye on the future of Utah softball, there’s big news from Utah Valley!
