Venice Celebrates High School Football State Championship
Venice, Fla. – The town of Venice is buzzing with excitement as the Venice High School Football Team continues to celebrate their impressive victory in the FHSAA Class 7A State Championship. The Indians clinched the title in December by decisively defeating Lake Mary High School with a score of 52 to 19.
After two months of relishing their remarkable achievement, the team hosted a parade and rally to honor their hard work and to connect with local fans. The celebration reflected the dedication that players put in throughout the season. “It’s really surreal, definitely what we deserved for all the hard work, long hours, long practices,” shared a team representative. “It’s nice to see the fans come out and congratulate us.”
On the day of the event, the Venice Indians paraded down the streets in a boat being towed by the police department, bringing the community together in a show of support. Crowds lined the streets, clapping and cheering as the team passed by. “I was shocked about how many people were there. It just shows we have a great community that supports us on Friday nights,” commented another player.
This was a memorable day for many who attended, emphasizing the strong support behind the school’s football program. “It shows how much support we have and how many people are behind the scenes,” another player stated. “We really wanted to celebrate with everyone involved because we kind of got shoehorned out of the stadium after our state championship.”
The Venice High School football program has a proud history, having secured FHSAA State Championships in 2000, 2017, 2021, and 2024. The sense of community spirit was clear, and this parade will be remembered by many for years to come.
