Carver High Football Welcomes New Head Coach Jermetrius Troy

In Carver, the Carver High football team has announced an exciting change as they prepare for the upcoming season. The Crusaders have named Jermetrius Troy as their new head coach, taking the reins starting in the fall. This announcement was made earlier this week, and the players had their first meeting with Troy on Friday.

Troy steps into this role following the tenure of Chris Pabst, who served as the interim coach last year and guided the team to a commendable 8-4 record. As a coach with a wealth of experience, Troy most recently worked as the special teams coordinator at Central Connecticut State University, a respected Division 1 FCS program.

With 12 years of coaching experience under his belt, Troy has previously held head coaching positions at Nobles and Greenough as well as Holderness High School in New Hampshire. His accomplishments in the coaching realm were recently acknowledged when he received the RISMA Football Coach of the Year award for his work with Old Rochester youth football.

A native of Mattapan, Troy is no stranger to the game. He showcased his talent as a running back at Stonehill College from 2009 to 2012, finishing as the Skyhawks’ fourth all-time leading rusher with 1,598 yards and 14 touchdowns across 36 career games.

As Carver High football looks to build on last season’s success, the addition of Coach Jermetrius Troy brings new energy and aspirations for the upcoming year. The players and the community are eager to see how Troy will lead the Crusaders in their next chapter.
