San Antonio – It’s the end of an era for the Reagan football program as the Rattlers say goodbye to Lyndon Hamilton, affectionately known as Coach Ham. Coach Ham is stepping down from his position as head coach and athletic coordinator after an impressive eight seasons. His time with the program spans a total of twelve years, and he has dedicated nineteen years to the school district overall.

Winning was a staple during Coach Ham’s leadership, as he recorded a remarkable 66-26 record while leading the Rattlers. Throughout his tenure, he brought the team to the playoffs each season and secured three district championships along the way. Coach Ham’s impact on the program has been significant and unforgettable.

In a heartfelt message shared during an interview, Coach Ham stated, “This is an amazing, amazing place. The Stone Oak community has been nothing but a blessing to my wife and I.” He also expressed pride in his two sons, who graduated from Reagan High School, saying, “They’ll be striking their entire life as well.” Coach Ham added, “Once a Rattler, always a Rattler.”

The decision to step down comes after Coach Ham accepted a new opportunity to become the head coach and athletic director at Gonzales High School. This position is particularly special for him as it is located near his hometown of Luling.
