CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Excitement is in the air as two former high school stars from the Charlotte area are set to hit the grand stage of the Super Bowl. The Philadelphia Eagles secured their spot by taking down the washington Commanders with an impressive score of 55-23 in the NFC Championship game.

Jordan Davis, a standout from Mallard Creek, and Will Shipley, who made a name for himself at Weddington, are ready to showcase their talents on February 9 in New Orleans. This year’s Super Bowl will mark the second appearance for Davis, an accomplished defensive tackle who previously starred at the University of Georgia.

In the championship game against the Commanders, Davis made significant contributions, recording two total tackles, a sack, a tackle-for-loss, and a pass deflection. Meanwhile, Shipley, the former Clemson Tiger running back, had an impressive outing as well, finishing with four carries for 77 yards and scoring a touchdown.

The Eagles are making their second Super Bowl appearance in three years. In their last showdown, they narrowly lost to the Kansas City Chiefs with a score of 38-35. Throughout the regular season, Davis played in all 17 games, finishing the season with 27 total tackles, one sack, and three tackles-for-loss. Shipley also made his mark during the season, starting in one game and recording 30 carries for 82 yards, along with four catches for 35 yards.
