Indianapolis – The second night of workouts at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is complete, showcasing the talents of defensive backs and tight ends at Lucas Oil Stadium. Many participants impressed scouts with their speed in the 40-yard dash, agility during drills, and overall explosiveness shown in broad and vertical jumps. As a result, some players saw their draft stock rise, while others faced potential challenges leading up to the draft set for April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Among the standouts was Barron, who delivered a remarkable 4.39-second 40-yard dash despite measuring smaller than most (5-foot-10 3/4, 29 5/8-inch arms). His performance reflects his speed, which is essential for defending against NFL wide receivers. In comparison, All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie had a 4.44 time at last year’s combine.

Bowman, although slightly shorter at 5-9 7/8, also amazed with a 4.42-second 40-yard dash. He showcased exceptional athleticism in drills, moving fluidly and catching passes with ease. Emmanwori shocked many by running a sub-4.4 time at 6-3 1/8 and 220 pounds, recording a stunning 43-inch vertical leap.

On the tight end front, Ferguson made a case for a second-round selection with a top time of 4.63 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He demonstrated his reliable hands with numerous catches during workouts. Hairston

However, not all players benefitted from their performances. Castro, known for his physical play, struggled with a 4.59-second dash, raising concerns about his speed in the NFL. Similarly, Helm did not help his case with a slow 4.84-second time, casting doubt on his ability to secure a starting position.

As the combine continues, coaches and scouts will be keenly watching these athletes, evaluating their performances and how they might fit into future NFL rosters. Make sure to tune in to the NFL Network and NFL+ for live coverage of the remaining workouts this weekend.
