High School Football Playoffs Heat Up in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The excitement of high school football playoffs is in the air as thirteen local teams have secured their spots in the Regional Quarterfinals of the 2024 OHSAA Playoffs. This weekend’s matchups promise to showcase some thrilling games, with the action starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 8.
This year, eight local teams will benefit from home-field advantage in the second round, which adds an extra layer of anticipation for fans and players alike.
Matchups Scheduled for Friday
- Division II, Region 5: #5 Warren Harding (8-3) will face off against #4 Austintown-Fitch (8-3).
- Division III, Region 9: #9 Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph (8-2) travels to take on #1 Ursuline (10-1).
- Division IV, Region 13: #5 Cleveland Glenville (8-3) will challenge #4 West Branch (11-0). Meanwhile, #7 Struthers (8-2) will go head-to-head with #2 Perry (10-1).
- Division V, Region 17: #8 Girard (7-4) is set to play #1 South Range (11-0) and #11 Martins Ferry (10-1) will match up with #3 Poland (9-2).
- Division VI, Region 21: #7 Toronto (8-3) will visit #2 Springfield (9-2).
- Division VII, Region 25: #9 Cuyahoga Heights (6-4) is up against #1 Western Reserve (10-1). Additionally, #5 Warren JFK (9-2) faces off against #4 Monroeville (10-1) and #11 Lowellville (7-4) takes on #3 Malvern (10-1).
