Exciting CIF Central Section High School Football Brackets Announced
This week, excitement is building in Fresno as the CIF Central Section high school football brackets have been officially revealed. Starting on November 8, all eight divisions will kick off their playoff action, promising thrilling matchups for local teams.
For the first time this year, Division I has been split into A and AA divisions. The top eight teams will compete in Division 1-AA, while the next eight will battle it out in Division 1-A. Leading the charge in Division 1-AA is Clovis East, boasting an impressive 10-0 record after their strong performance last Friday. They achieved a solid 38-21 victory over Clovis North, who now holds the second seed in Division 1-AA. Rounding out the bracket for Division 1-AA are Central, Hanford, Clovis, Liberty, Sanger, and Tulare Union.
Clovis North, the defending Division I champion, will be looking to reclaim their title in the upcoming games. Other defending champions from last season include Central Valley Christian in D2, Mission Oak in D3, Torres in D4, Wasco in D5, Strathmore in D6, and Fresno Christian in the 8-man category.
This year’s top seeds include Bakersfield in 1-A, Bakersfield Christian in D2, Porterville in D3, Shafter in D4, Bishop Union in D5, Minarets in D6, and Mammoth in the 8-man division.
The playoffs will begin on November 8 with exciting first-round games, followed by the semifinal games on November 15 and championship showdowns on November 22. Champions from all divisions, except the 8-man category, will earn a spot in the prestigious CIF Northern California Bowl series. Additionally, winners from those contests will advance to face Southern California champions in the state championship games.
