The highlight of the evening came from Bishop Gorman, who showcased their dominance with a resounding 61-0 victory over Desert Pines. Quarterback Maika Eugenio was on fire, completing six of seven passes for an impressive 185 yards and four touchdowns. Gorman’s offense made waves with a total of 490 offensive yards and nine TDs, solidifying their position as the top team in the 5A Division I.
Over at Desert Oasis, the Diamondbacks stunned the 10th-ranked Durango Trailblazers with a strong 35-6 victory. Quarterback Vincent Hales shone brightly by throwing four touchdown passes, while Chris Villasenor also contributed with three TDs. The Diamondbacks have clinched the No. 3 postseason seed and are gearing up for their next challenge against the No. 6 seed Sunrise Mountain.
Meanwhile, Coronado battled to a 29-15 win against Foothill. The Cougars, now ranked fourth, saw late-game rushing touchdowns from Aiden Krause and Derek Hurley that propelled them to victory. They will face the powerhouse Bishop Gorman next.
In another standout performance, Faith Lutheran cruised past Palo Verde with a commanding 55-15 score. Alex Rogers led the Crusaders with three passing touchdowns and one rushing score, securing their unbeaten record in 5A Division II at 9-0.
Green Valley also made headlines, defeating Silverado 35-14 with Esteban Martinez scoring two touchdowns, while Trey Glasper found the end zone on an interception return. The Gators now prepare for a matchup against Palo Verde.
