North Shore Dominates Kingwood in District Showdown
HOUSTON, TX – In an exciting district matchup of the 2024 Texas high school football season, the North Shore Mustangs showcased their strength against the Kingwood Mustangs, emerging victorious with a score of 48-21 on Thursday night. The game took place at Turner Stadium and kicked off at 7 p.m. Central time.
North Shore quickly took control of the game, with quarterback Kaleb Bailey throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns, completing 12 of 17 passes. Running back D’Andre Thomas had a standout performance with 129 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, while receiver Chace Deblanc contributed significantly with 82 receiving yards and a 68-yard touchdown on a fake punt.
Despite a tough matchup, Kingwood demonstrated resilience. Quarterback Holland Hargrave managed to complete 6 of 10 passes for 97 yards and one touchdown. Running back Ziair Davis scored twice, racking up 51 rushing yards on 20 carries.
In the first half, North Shore began the scoring with an impressive 98.5-yard touchdown run by Thomas. After Kingwood managed to get on the board thanks to a 38-yard interception return, North Shore responded with a steady drive culminating in a touchdown just before halftime to lead 19-7.
As the second half unfolded, North Shore kept their momentum, adding to their lead with multiple touchdowns, including a highlight play by Deblanc on the fake punt. Kingwood managed to score late in the game, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the substantial deficit.
This win improves North Shore’s record this season and solidifies them as a team to watch moving forward. Both teams showed great efforts, but North Shore’s power and strategy were key to their commanding victory in this important district game.
