This week’s action showcases five important games featuring teams that are ranked in the top 25 of the On3 Massey Ratings, a well-known ranking system that has its roots in the BCS era and has been analyzing sports rankings since 1995. These rankings are determined by looking at game outcomes, the strength of schedule, and the margin of victory.
The games kicked off on Thursday, October 3, with #4 Centennial taking on Eleanor Roosevelt and securing a 14-0 victory. In another matchup, #16 Murrieta Valley faced off against Norco, where the latter currently trails with a score of 21-0.
Moving into Friday, several highly anticipated games are on the schedule. The top-ranked team, Mater Dei, is set to challenge #9 Santa Margarita Catholic, while #6 Orange Lutheran will go head-to-head with #2 St. John Bosco. Mission Viejo will also clash with Long Beach Poly at the prestigious SoFi Stadium. Other matchups include #7 Servite facing #5 J Serra Catholic, and #10 Sierra Canyon battling Chaminade.
Saturday will feature games with #14 Los Alamitos squaring off against #17 Lincoln, while Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep will meet #18 Junipero Serra San Mateo. Notably, #9 De La Salle will be idle this week.
