In South Jersey, the football spotlight shone brightly on several talented high school players during Week 4, showcasing impressive stats that thrilled fans across the region. Here’s a look at some of the standout performances that had everyone talking.
RJ Blount from Pennsauken had a night to remember as he rushed for an astounding 346 yards and scored six touchdowns in his team’s 49-29 victory over Eastern. This remarkable total ranks as the second highest in Pennsauken history, only behind the previous record of 376 yards set in 2016. Blount’s performance has catapulted him to an impressive total of eleven touchdowns this season.
Meanwhile, Christian Braxton of Camden also made headlines with a solid effort, carrying the ball 30 times for 215 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 44-27 win over Rancocas Valley. Braxton currently leads his team with 489 rushing yards this season.
On the receiving end, Brody Deiter from Rancocas Valley put on a performance to remember, catching nine passes for 254 yards, setting a program record during the same game. His yardage ranks second in Burlington County history.
Not to be outdone, Nate Klecko from Paul VI rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, contributing to his team’s strong win over Willingboro. His effort also included a touchdown reception.
An honorable mention goes to Donovan Linthicum from Oakcrest, who rushed for 115 yards and scored four touchdowns in a victory over Absegami, making it his third game surpassing the 100-yard mark this season.
