In Florida, high school football has officially kicked off, and the excitement is palpable as teams have hit the field for Week 6 of the regular season. With the action heating up, eight talented athletes have been nominated for the SBLive’s Heartland Florida Football Player of the Week award, scheduled from September 26-28. This is a fantastic opportunity for fans to show their support and vote for their favorite players.

This week’s nominees highlight the impressive skills and accomplishments of several athletes around the state. A standout performer was the North Dakota State commitment who showcased an excellent game in his team’s 63-0 victory over Lake Gibson, completing 7-of-10 passes for 134 yards and throwing three touchdowns. His impressive performance solidified his reputation as one of Polk County’s top athletes.

Others making a splash include a senior running back who dominated in the Blue Streaks’ 37-6 win against Kathleen with 57 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Another athlete paired up with a teammate to secure two touchdowns and rush for 110 yards on just seven touches.

It’s worth noting the resilience displayed by Parmley, who despite a 22-13 loss to Lake Minneola, managed to rush for 46 yards and score two touchdowns. Additionally, Dias kept the Bloodhounds competitive with six tackles and two sacks in their 49-7 loss to Orlando Jones.

Fans excitedly watched the Panthers’ running back during their 24-0 victory over Hardee, where he scored two touchdowns with impressive moves. Similarly, West led Discovery to a strong showing in a 25-6 victory against Tenoroc, throwing three touchdown passes.
